We are all journeying through and we can use the journey to have fellowship with Our Heavenly Father, or be lonely without Him. He created us for fellowship. He knows we need Him. We sometimes stumble around and ask for His help only when we’re desperate. He doesn’t mind because we are His children, and He knows us better than we know ourselves. He hopes that as we mature, we will be capable of a more meaningful relationship than only calling on Him when we are in trouble or in need.
This morning, I’m watching the little hummingbirds as they come to the feeders. They had no idea I would prepare nectar for them yesterday.
God is always ahead of us, too, preparing for our needs before we even know we have them! He speaks to us through the sounds of nature all around. We hear Him in the gentle breeze or the clap of thunder. We marvel at a sunset. We hear the birds’ songs glorifying Our Creator. Even in the weaving of a web, a spider, too, glorifies our Heavenly Father.
If these little birds can chirp a song of thanks for their nectar, can’t we, also, lift our voices in thanksgiving for our Creator and His Creation?
I
